During the 3-day festival, the nomadic culture will be kept alive in all its aspects. For those who want to attend the festival, where Musa Eroğlu, Kubat and Zara will perform as well as dance ensembles and local artists, public transport will provide free transportation to the festival area every two hours from different points of the city.
Antalya Metropolitan Municipality is getting ready to host the Turkish world in the International Antalya Yörük Türkmen Festival. While the final preparations are underway for the festival that will bring together thousands of nomads from Antalya, Turkey and abroad between 6-7-8 May, Mayor Muhittin Böcek invited all Antalya residents to the festival to be held with a wide international participation
Colorful Events
The Yörük Türkmen Festival, which will provide a cultural feast for 3 days in the festival area established on approximately 400 decares in the At Çayırı Mevkii of the Solaklı Neighbourhood of Aksu District, will start with placing a wreath at the Atatürk Monument on Friday, May 6 at 10.30. After a moment of silence and the National Anthem, the Nomadic Migration Walk will be held until Karaalioğlu Park. On the same day, at 14.00, the activities will start in the festival area. The festival will feature a horse javelin show, wrestling on horseback, war games, archery shows and folk dances for 3 days.
Free Transportation to the Festival Area
The Nomadic culture, which has made Anatolia it’s home for a thousand years and has a deep history, will be maintained alive in all its aspects at the festival, which will be enriched by the involvement of 29 countries, provincial and district towns, associations and cooperatives. For those who would like to visit the festival, free transportation will be provided on the Uncalı-Expo, Liman-Expo, Döşemealt-Expo, and Metropolitan Municipality-Expo routes every two hours starting at 09.00 a.m. Starting at 13.00, the shuttle will leave the festival area every two hours to return.
